Mark was a Godly man. A committed Christian. A loving husband and father. A true gentle giant. He was kind natured to all. He was a good friend. He was humble. He was gifted and highly talented. He was all these things and many, many more beside. I have listed “ a Godly man, committed Christian “ first. This is because that is where Mark put his LORD, who he loved so much. I remember Mark telling me that, many years ago before I was converted. Mark didn’t just tell me. He showed me and demonstrated it in the way he lived, at home , at work , at church , in life. Mark and Ang, they both helped me on many occasions during my own periods of ill health. They would and did do anything for me. When I lived in London, I would look forward to Mark, Ang & the boys coming up for Christmas. I recall Mark really looking forward to attending services at The Metropolitan Tabernacle in London. He loved his family and he loved his LORD. Mark was such great company, his wit and sense of humour razor sharp. Mark was always giving of his love, time, advice and knowledge. He also took great care of the various Neville pets. King and Homer, the spaniels, floppsy the rabbit and Borris the hamster. I remember when the family went to buy Homer from a litter of pups at a farm in deepest Devon. Kai chose Homer and Mark, enquired of the price. The Farmer, in his thick west country accent said “ Only an idiot would take less than £ 200 for that their dog “. Mark, quick as a flash responded with “ will £190 do then” ! I have so, so many happy memories of Mark. My beautiful wife Allie has too. Mark and Ang would regulary give up their home. Mark would sit up and chat to us until late into the night, even though he had to start early for work the next day. He would “look after” Allie, if I was delayed in driving down from London – making sure she had company, food, a drink, a cushion behind her back! Mark, Ang and the boys have always be so generous and kind. I will always be eternally grateful for the big part you both had in pointing, encouraging , explaining and leading me to the LORD. Ang , Kai , Nat and Brock – we love you and you are in our prayers forever.
